My Sunday night

consists of sitting in Amina's bed with my computer on my lap, futzing around on the internet. I'm SUPPOSED to be researching information on Cameroon for a French presentation in the morning. Instead, I am:
-posting numerous entries here
-waiting for something interesting to pop up on FaceBook
-reading other people's blogs
-looking up complex, interesting medical things on WebMD
-occasionally doing the things I'm supposed to

While I am doing all of this fancy internet multi-tasking, I am also:
-drinking lemonade at room temperature
-eating delicious banana nut bread
-fighting to keep my eyes open

The lemonade reminds me of the CountryTime lemonade we would make and drink daily at horse camp when I was younger. The banana nut bread takes me back to being seven years old, when Mom would make it in the fall by the batches and my brother and I would take entire loafs to the teachers at school. I remember soft butter spread on top, sitting on a paper napkin, waiting to be scooped up before running out the door to catch the bus in the mornings.

I miss these days so much.
